1.  What made you want to write Let’s Talk: Volume 1? What do you hope readers get from it?

I wrote ‘Let’s Talk: Volume 1’ with the goal being to inspire people to have conversations that they ordinarily would not. I wrote this book during a time when I felt like my peers generally weren't talking about things of substance.

During our early twenties, we can often feel lost, and just go through the motions. After reading my first book, I hope readers walk away feeling motivated and inspired. We all have gifts and a purpose, I want all of my readers to tap into that. Realize this: your gifts were given to you to ultimately make the world a better place; let’s work together and make it happen!

2.  Which of the 6 articles in the book did you have the most fun writing, and which one did you have the most challenges writing?

I had the most fun writing the article: ‘Living in your Purpose’. I feel the reason for this is because the message in that article resonates throughout the whole book. If you are living in your purpose, everything else in your life will eventually align.

On the other hand, I believe the article that challenged me the most was ‘Spirituality vs. Religion’. This article was challenging for me because I wanted to walk the fine line between presenting unbiased facts in the beginning, and then offering my opinion at the end.

3.  'Purpose' is a big topic in this ebook, when did you find your purpose and what doors has your purpose opened for you?

I found my purpose going into my senior year of college. During this time, I actually had time to myself to reflect on what I wanted, what kind of life I wanted to live, what I loved, and how I could help others. Eventually, these questions, as well as my gifts of writing and creativity, led me to find my purpose in health and wellness.

Once I found my purpose, the vision was clear. I started to align myself with like-minded individuals. As a result, opportunities and collaborations opened up for me. Examples include my fitness line, podcast opportunities, interview opportunities, brand ambassador opportunities, job opportunities, etc.

4.  What made you write an ebook opposed to a physical copy?

I wrote an ebook because I wanted to make it as convenient as possible to access. I enjoy physical copies of books. However, I know that a lot of people would rather read from their phones. Eventually, I will provide both physical and digital copies of my books.

5.  What was your overall writing process like for this book?

I am a very organized person when it comes to writing. I like everything to be planned out and for the process to move along smoothly. In writing this book, the first thing I did was brainstorm topics that I wanted to cover. Once I narrowed down the topic, I wrote out a timeline for when I wanted each article to be completed as well as the book in its entirety.

6.  What’s your best advice for getting over writer’s block?

My best advice for getting over writer's block is to relax; take a break from writing. Exercise, hang out with friends and have new experiences. Often times, we get writer's block when we are too consumed with finishing a project. If we take some time to regroup, we will get inspired again.

7.  What’s the best book you have read in 2019 thus far?

The best book I have read this year is ‘The Four Agreements’ by Don Miguel Ruiz. The Four Agreements he covers are very simple, yet very impactful. I have seen positive changes in my life so far by implementing them. This book does away with limiting beliefs; he reinforces that the only limits we have are the limits we place on ourselves.

8.  Can you talk a little bit about your Ju’Nae Fit apparel, where the idea came from and what the vision of the brand is?

I co-own an amazing fitness apparel line, Ju’Nae Fit. It started as a conversation between my business partner and I. We noticed that with fitness apparel you usually get 1 or 2 of these 3 things: quality, style, and affordability.

It’s very rare that you get all three of these characteristics in a fitness apparel brand. We developed our brand to solve that issue as well as promote self-confidence. Our message is simple: You are amazing, and there is no one else like you. Embrace that, love yourself, and radiate confidence.

9.  Do you plan on writing more books in the future?

Yes, I do! I actually have two e-books releasing this month!
